गरियाबंद - लोकसभा आम निर्वाचन 2024 के अंतर्गत जिले के वरिष्ठ नागरिक एवं दिव्यांग मतदाताओं को मतदान केन्द्र तक आने-जाने के लिए निःशुल्क परिवहन सुविधा प्रदान करने के लिए वरिष्ठ नागरिक दिव्यांग मतदाता रथ की व्यवस्था की गई है। यह प्रचार रथ जिला मुख्यालय गरियाबंद से रवाना होकर छुरा विकासखंड के ग्राम-कोसमबुड़ा, मुड़ागॉव, सोरिदखुर्द, पाटसिवनी, जरजरा, पांडुका, कुटेना, पोड़ सहित अन्य हाट बाजारों एवं चौक-चौराहो में मतदाता रथ का प्रचार-प्रसार करते हुये नगर पंचायत फिंगेश्वर एवं फिंगेश्वर के ग्राम बेलर, बोरसी, जेंजरा, देवरी, कौंदकेरा, भेन्ड्री से होते हुये वापस जिला मुख्यालय गरियाबंद तक के विभिन्न ग्रामों उक्त वाहन के माध्यम से मतदान दिवस पर मिलने वाली सुविधाओं का प्रचार-प्रसार किया गया। उल्लेखनीय है कि भारत निर्वाचन आयोग के द्वारा की गई नई व्यवस्था के तहत चलने-फिरने में असमर्थ दिव्यांगों एवं 85 वर्ष से अधिक की आयु के वरिष्ठ नागरिक एवं दिव्यांग मतदाताओं को अब अपने मताधिकार के प्रयोग करने के लिए मतदान केन्द्र तक आने-जाने में किसी प्रकार की भी परेशानी नही होगी। भारत निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा की गई नई व्यवस्था के तहत इन मतदाताओं को अब हेल्पलाईन नंबर 1950 नंबर में डायल कर अपने नाम का पंजीयन कराने के पश्चात् मतदान तिथि को उन्हें अपने मताधिकार के प्रयोग हेतु मतदान केन्द्र तक आने-जाने के लिए निःशुल्क परिवहन सुविधा प्रदान की जाएगी।
