बलरामपुर - कलेक्टर श्री रिमिजियुस एक्का ने महिला एवं बाल विकास विभाग के सुपरवाईजर, ऑगनबाड़ी कार्यकर्ता एवं चाईल्ड लाईन को जिले के क्षेत्रों में बाल विवाह राकने हेतु उचित कार्यवाही करने के निर्देश दिये गए हैं। 17 अप्रैल रामनवमी एवं 10 मई 2024 को अक्षय तृतीया है, इस दिवस को बड़ी संख्या में विवाह सम्पन्न होते हैं। अतएव अन्य दिवसों के साथ-साथ विशेष रूप से अक्षय तृतीया को निगरानी रखने की आवश्यकता है की जिले में कही भी बाल विवाह न हो इसके लिए जिला प्रशासन सतर्क भी है। इसी कड़ी में सूचना प्राप्त हुई की विकासखण्ड रामचन्द्रपुर के अंतर्गत ग्राम कनकपुर में बाल विवाह हो रही है। सूचना प्राप्त होने पर महिला एवं बाल विकास विभाग के सुपरवाईजर, ऑगनबाड़ी कार्यकर्ता एवं चाईल्ड लाईन की संयुक्त टीम के द्वारा ग्राम कनकनगर पहुंचकर बालक के माता-पिता एवं सगे संबंधियों को समझाईश देकर बाल विवाह होने से रोका गया। साथ ही वहां उपस्थित लोगों को बताया गया कि बाल विवाह केवल एक सामाजिक बुराई ही नहीं अपितु कानूनन अपराध भी है। बाल विवाह के कारण बच्चों में कुपोषण, शिशु-मृत्यु दर एवं मातृ-मृत्यु दर के साथ घरेलू हिंसा में भी वृद्धि होती है। विवाह हेतु लड़के की उम्र 21 वर्ष तथा लड़की की उम्र 18 वर्ष निर्धारित है। बाल विवाह प्रतिषेध अधिनियम के अंतर्गत बाल विवाह करने वाले वर एवं वधु के माता-पिता, सगे-संबंधी, बाराती यहां तक कि विवाह कराने वाले पुरोहित पर भी कानूनी कार्यवाही की जा सकती है। कोई भी व्यक्ति जो जानबूझकर ऐसी निषेधाज्ञा का उल्लंघन करता है तो उसे दो वर्ष तक के कठोर कारावास अथवा जुर्माना जो कि 01 लाख रूपये तक हो सकता है। जिला कार्यक्रम अधिकारी, महिला एवं बाल विकास विभाग ने जिलेवासियों से अपील की है कि लड़के का उम्र 21 वर्ष तथा लड़की की उम्र 18 वर्ष पूर्ण होने के पश्चात ही विवाह करें। यदि किसी व्यक्ति को बाल विवाह की जानकारी प्राप्त होती है तो जिला बाल संरक्षण अधिकारी मोबाइल नम्बर 9826278915 या टोल फ्री नम्बर 1098 पर कॉल करके एवं अपने ग्राम पंचायत के सरपंच, सचिव, शिक्षक, कोटवार, तहसीलदार, थाना प्रभारी, पर्यवेक्षक एवं ऑगनबाड़ी कार्यकर्ता को अविलंब सूचित करें। आपकी जानकारी गोपनीय रखी जायेगी।

Balrampur - Collector Mr. Remijius Ekka has instructed the supervisor of the Women and Child Development Department, Anganwadi workers and Child Line to take appropriate action to stop child marriage in the areas of the district. 17th April is Ram Navami and 10th May 2024 is Akshaya Tritiya, a large number of marriages take place on this day. Therefore, along with other days, especially on Akshaya Tritiya, there is a need to keep a vigil that the district administration is also alert to ensure that child marriage does not take place anywhere in the district. In this connection, information was received that child marriage is taking place in village Kanakpur under development block Ramchandrapur. On receiving the information, a joint team of supervisor of Women and Child Development Department, Auganwadi workers and Child Line reached village Kanaknagar and counseled the child's parents and relatives to prevent child marriage from taking place. Also, the people present there were told that child marriage is not only a social evil but also a legal crime. Due to child marriage, there is an increase in child malnutrition, infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate as well as domestic violence. The age of a boy for marriage is fixed at 21 years and the age of a girl is fixed at 18 years. Under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act, legal action can be taken against the parents of the bride and groom who perform a child marriage, relatives, wedding guests and even the priest who conducts the marriage. Any person who knowingly violates such prohibition can be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which may extend to Rs 1 lakh. District Program Officer, Women and Child Development Department has appealed to the people of the district to get married only after the boy completes 21 years of age and the girl completes 18 years of age.
