कटनी - कलेक्टर एवं जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी श्री अवि प्रसाद ने जिले के सभी मतदाताओं से अपील की है कि वे लोकसभा निर्वाचन मतदान दिवस को अपने मतदान केन्द्र पर जाकर बिना किसी डर-भय के निर्भीक होकर निर्वाचन प्रक्रिया में भाग लें और अपने मताधिकार का उपयोग करें। मतदाताओं से की गई अपील में कहा गया है कि भारतीय दण्ड संहिता की धारा 171-ख के अनुसार जो कोई व्यक्ति निर्वाचन प्रक्रिया के दौरान किसी व्यक्ति को उसके निर्वाचन अधिकार का प्रयोग करने के लिए उत्प्रेरित करने के उद्देश्य से नकद या वस्तु के रूप में कोई परितोषण देता है या लेता है तो वह एक वर्ष तक के कारावास या जुर्माने या दोनों से दण्डनीय होगा। इसी तरह भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 171-ग के अनुसार कोई व्यक्ति किसी अभ्यर्थी या निर्वाचक या किसी अन्य व्यक्ति को किसी प्रकार की चोट पहुंचाने की धमकी देता है, वह एक वर्ष के कारावास या जुर्माने या दोनों से दण्डनीय होगा।कलेक्टर श्री प्रसाद ने कहा है कि मतदाताओं को डराने, धमकाने, रिश्वत प्रदायकर्ता और ग्राहयकर्ता दोनो के विरूद्ध आपराधिक प्रकरण दर्ज करने और ऐसे लोगों के विरुद्ध कार्यवाही करने के लिए विभिन्न उडनदस्तों का गठन किया गया है।  कलेक्टर श्री प्रसाद ने नगारिकों से अनुरोध किया है वे रिश्वत लेने से परहेज करें और यदि कोई व्यक्ति किसी भी प्रकार की रिश्तव का प्रस्ताव देता है या मतदाता को किसी प्रत्याशी विशेष के पक्ष में मतदान करने या नहीं करने के लिए डराता धमकाता है या प्रलोभन देता है तो इसकी सूचना जिला स्तरीय कंट्रोल रूम के दूरभाष नंबर-07622-222188 और 07622 220070 तथा टोल फ्री नंबर 1950 एवं सी- विजिल एप के माध्यम से अनिवार्य रूप से सूचित करें।

Collector Shri Prasad appealed to the voters to vote fearlessly

Katni - Collector and District Election Officer Mr. Avi Prasad has appealed to all the voters of the district to go to their polling station on the Lok Sabha election polling day and participate in the election process without any fear and exercise their franchise. . In the appeal made to the voters, it has been said that according to Section 171-B of the Indian Penal Code, whoever gives any thing in cash or kind to any person during the election process for the purpose of inducing him to exercise his electoral right, Gives or takes gratification, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both. Similarly, according to Section 171-C of the Indian Penal Code, if any person threatens to cause any kind of injury to any candidate or elector or any other person, he will be punishable with imprisonment of one year or fine or both. Collector Shri Prasad said. It is said that various flying squads have been formed to intimidate and threaten voters, register criminal cases against both bribe givers and takers and take action against such people. Collector Shri Prasad has requested the citizens to refrain from taking bribe and if any person offers any kind of bribe or intimidates or tempts the voter to vote in favor of a particular candidate or not.
